The Secret Kingdom(2023)Movie Review:good film for the family

For an Australian film, The Secret Kingdom(2023) is surprisingly bold and unafraid to tackle grand action sequences. If you’re into kid-friendly adventure movies, this one isn’t too shabby. Sure, it might be a tad slow-paced, but it’s bearable.

The primary shortcoming of this movie lies in its mediocre storyline. It lacks inventive surprises and plot twists, which ultimately leaves it feeling repetitive. The plot centers around two siblings embarking on a journey to overcome challenges, but things aren’t always what they seem. The teenage boy who plays the lead role delivers a less-than-stellar performance, struggling with expressing emotions convincingly. As for the visual effects, they certainly leave room for improvement. The standout aspect of the film is the character of Verity, a spirited nine-year-old girl whose dialogue delivery is truly commendable.

If you’re a parent searching for a family movie night pick, I’d recommend giving this one a shot. I’m confident the kiddos will enjoy it.
