The Little Mermaid(2023)Review:disappointing movie

The Little Mermaid (1989) holds a special place in my heart because of its beautiful singing and the vibrant presence of sea creatures in the film. However, I was disappointed with the new film as it lacks the charm and liveliness of the original. It feels like another attempt by Disney to cash in on their old IPs instead of creating something new and original, and unfortunately, it turned out to be bad. It’s by far the worst live-action remake that Disney has made so far. The actors seemed to be just reading their lines instead of truly acting, which was disappointing.

The special effects in the movie were a letdown. It’s surprising that a film with such a big budget could look so poor. Some of the underwater scenes looked like they were from a PlayStation 3 cut scene, which was terrible. The animal characters in this movie, such as Scuttle, Sebastian, and Flounder, were awful. They looked freaky instead of cartoonish or charming, and not even realistic. They were weird and odd, and whenever they appeared on screen, it took me out of the film.

Overall, The Little Mermaid (2023) was lackluster and forgettable. The uninspiring performances, poor visual effects, and terrible original songs left me disengaged and disappointed.
