Kandahar (2023) review:worthwhile action movie

Kandahar, directed by Ric Roman Waugh, is a 2023 action thriller film . The movie features impressive action sequences and a realistic depiction of a war-torn country. Shot entirely in Saudi Arabia, it is the second American movie to be filmed in the country. Most of the film’s shots were taken in Alula city, located in the north of Saudi Arabia, featuring stunning desert scenes, breathtaking nature, spectacular mountain shapes, and a beautiful mix of green and brown.

Despite being an action movie, Kandahar feels more like a political thriller that focuses on culture, balance, and the stories of the pieces in the game of war. The film delivers a strong political message and showcases the struggles of people whose lives, cultures, and countries have been destroyed by ongoing conflicts, violence, Western interference, and more. The villains are well-portrayed, leaving the audience questioning who to trust throughout the movie.

Through its characters and story arc, the film shows the complexity of situations and struggles faced by people in war-torn countries. Overall, Kandahar (2023)is a gripping and pulse-pounding action thriller that successfully combines adrenaline-fueled sequences with contemplative undertones. If you are a fan of Gerard Butler, then I highly recommend watching this movie.
