Fast X (2023) review:like a poorly executed comedy

Fast X (2023) is an underwhelming and nonsensical disaster that fails to captivate or impress. The storyline is shallow and convoluted, the characters lack depth and are easily forgettable, and the film defies all principles of logic, blatantly disregarding the laws of physics. The gravity and other basic physical laws appear to have no effect on any of the characters in the movie.

The Fast franchise is a series that should have vanished from the public’s attention a long time ago. While some may argue that the action sequences and complex plotlines have their own unique charm, the films have often been criticized for their absurdity and juvenile storytelling. However, this time around, the filmmakers have gone too far.

Once again, the movie features retconned elements from previous installments, a clichéd revenge plotline, and the obligatory family reunion to defeat evil. The plot is essentially a rehash of the last few films, but with even less effort put into its execution.

The first three Fast & Furious movies were undoubtedly the best of the series, with some of the sequels being decent at best. Although the late Paul Walker wasn’t an exceptional actor, he did bring memorable moments to the franchise. Vin Diesel, on the other hand, always wears a scowling expression with his face tilted down, looking forward. Nowadays, it seems like the franchise is all about profit, with little regard for creating a quality film.

Overall, Fast X (2023) is a tedious, uninspiring, and disappointing film that feels more like a poorly executed comedy than a serious action flick. There is little to look forward to in any future sequels after such a letdown.
